ST. CLOUD -- Recent tornado warnings across the Tri-County area gave staff at some of our community's larger facilities a chance to put their storm preparedness into action.

At St. Cloud Hospital, overhead announcements were made to direct people to safety. Staff conducted room sweeps to make sure patients and visitors were brought to safety.

At the River's Edge Convention Center, attendees were brought to safety as well to the lower level of the facility's parking ramp.  River's Edge Convention Center spokesman Bill Dunsmoor says their staff also monitors the storms with weather radios.

Both the hospital and convention center staff go through training to prepare for such events.

Calls to Crossroads Shopping Center went un-returned.
