GARRISON -- Good news for ice anglers on Lake Mille Lacs. The Minnesota DNR has decided anglers can keep one walleye between 18-20 inches or one longer than 28 inches this winter.

You can also keep five northern pike per day.

The DNR and Mille Lacs Fisheries Advisory Committee had previously set the harvest cap at 5,000 pounds.

If the winter harvest appears likely to exceed the five-thousand pound harvest, a catch-and-release restriction will go into place.

The winter walleye regulation goes into effect Tuesday, December 1st and extends through Sunday, February 28th.
