KSTP Anchor Sues Over Driver’s License Snooping

MINNEAPOLIS (AP) - A journalist at KSTP-TV in the Twin Cities has filed a federal lawsuit on a claim her private driver's license information was illegally searched about 1,380 times.

That's believed to be the highest number of searches on one person by Minnesota government workers who snooped in private license data. KSTP anchor and reporter Jessica Miles is one of about 20 people to file lawsuits.

Miles' lawsuit states the Department of Public Safety notified her that personnel from 180 different departments and agencies reviewed and improperly obtained or used her private data.

Miles's husband, KSTP digital manager Cory Kampschroer, was looked up 92 times and joined in the lawsuit. The couple had no immediate comment on the lawsuit Tuesday.

The Department of Public Safety is not commenting on litigation over license data.
