Kitchen Fire Causes $50,000 in Damages to St. Cloud Home

ST. CLOUD -- Fire fighters responded to kitchen fire in St. Cloud early this (Thursday) morning.

Battalion Chief Leon Faust says the call came in at about 2:15 a.m. at 1221 Whitney Drive.

He says the fire was contained to the kitchen but caused about $50,000 in damages.

The owner of the house was not hurt, but a cat did die in the fire.

Faust says papers next to the stove with a burner left on is believed to be the cause of the fire.
