Karen R. Dewey, 63, Sartell

Gathering of family and friends will be from 11:00-12:00PM on Friday, January 13, 2017 at the Williams Dingmann Family Funeral Home for Karen R. Dewey, age 63, of Sartell who passed away peacefully at her home on Sunday, January 8, 2017.

Karen was born January 19, 1953 in Berlin, Germany daughter of Bruno and Gertrude (Bressel) Petzold. She married Bruce Dewey on March 11, 1977 in Berlin, Germany. Karen worked various jobs that involved helping others; German Red Cross, ambulance service in Berlin, and nursing care at the VA. She enjoyed flower and vegetable gardening, knitting scarves, purses, and sweaters, and redecorating the family home. Karen will be greatly remembered for her feistiness and caring demeanor; always protecting family first. She will be dearly missed by all who knew her.

Karen is survived by her loving husband of 39 years, Bruce of Sartell; children, Tina Funke of England, Mike of Sauk Rapids, Sabrina (Chris) Bechtold of St. Cloud, Angie of Sartell; grandchildren who Karen loved to spoil, Nevaeh, Eva, Evan “Squishy”, Maliyah “MiMi”, Riley, Landon; siblings, Bernd Petzold of Berlin, Germany, and Edith Sydow of Berlin, Germany.

She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Lothar; and sister, Ingrid.
