MORA (AP) — The Kanabec County Chief Deputy has resigned after being sentenced in connection with a recent driving under the influence case.

34-year-old Joel Bos was arrested in connection with a police chase and charged with three counts of drunken driving, including having an open container.

Bos ended up pleading guilty to a single misdemeanor count of drunken driving.

Bos received a stayed sentenced on Tuesday of 45 days in jail if he remains law abiding and has no similar offenses. He will also serve two years probation and pay a $400 fine and other court fees.

The sheriff's department announced the resignation Friday.
