ST. CLOUD -- A Stearns County jury has found the man accused of firing gunshots at police during a 2010 standoff guilty of all charges.

27-year-old Frank Bammert was charged with two counts of first degree assault, two counts of second degree assault and one count of possessing a pistol or assault weapon after a previous violent crime conviction. Each first degree assault charge calls for a minimum of 10 years in prison and prosecutors will be asking for two 10-year terms to be served consecutively.

The incident arose in August 2010 after witnesses reported Bammert was firing gunshots outside of his St. Cloud apartment.

Bammert was accused of firing several rounds at police who fired back, hitting Bammert in the head and neck during the standoff.

The jury deliberated for about three hours before finding Bammert guilty on all five charges.

Sentencing is scheduled for March 1st.
