Jury Convicts Woman in Fatal Minneapolis Strip Club Shooting
MINNEAPOLIS (AP) - A jury has convicted a St. Paul woman of fatally shooting another woman inside a downtown Minneapolis strip club.
Hennepin County Attorney Mike Freeman said Monday the jury found 30-year-old Jasmine Nicole Jones guilty of second-degree murder.
Jones of convicted of killing 32-year-old Lakisha Marie Neal of Minneapolis. Neal was shot in the head early on Oct. 18, 2014, at Augie's Bourbon Street Cabaret. She died at the scene.
A criminal complaint says the two women had been feuding for some time. Witnesses say an argument became a physical fight with bouncers separating the women.
Surveillance video at the club captured Jones pulling out a gun and shooting Neal. Jones turned herself in later that day and brought a handgun with her.
Sentencing is set for March 14.
