Juneteenth Celebration Tomorrow in St. Cloud

ST. CLOUD - St. Cloud's 16th Annual Juneteenth Celebration is tomorrow (Friday).  The picnic, festival and community gathering runs from 6:00 until 9:00 p.m. at Riverside Park.

Black history and Juneteenth information will be shared, as well as African-American and African arts and crafts.  There will also be voter registration and health information available.

Juneteenth marks the anniversary of freed black slaves in Texas.  These slaves found out that they were free June 13th and June 19th, 1865, two years after the Emancipation Proclamation had been passed.
