Julia was born July 4, 1926 in Rockville to Frank and Agatha (Molitor) Bauer. She was educated in Rockville, the worked at the Beacon Café, St. Cloud. She married Gilbert “Gib” W. Voigt on June 18, 1947 in St. Boniface Catholic Church, Cold Spring. Together the couple started dairy farming and raised 12 children; (eight daughters and four sons) teaching them through examples, values of love, respect, hard work, and having fun together. Throughout her life, Julia’s family was her priority. She was very much an equal partner with her husband on the farm. In 1988 the couple retired and moved from the farm to a new house built for the two of them. She especially enjoyed reflecting in the glory of the country side. Julia was the heart of hearts and best friend to her children, grandchildren, family and friends. She had a smile that was infectious and warmed others hearts. Julia valued making memories by traveling, sharing her gift of cooking astonishing meals, gathering as a family to play a competitive game of cards, or sitting in solidarity working on puzzles. She was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary and Christian Women and walked strongly in her faith; praying the rosary for anyone in need. She will be dearly missed.

Julia is survived by her children, Don (Andrea), Joyce (Dave) Mohs, Dan (Missy), Brenda (Donnie Silvers) Brannan all of St. Cloud, Pat (Nick) Heinen of Nisswa, Betty (Ken) Maritsch of Rockville, Marilyn (Tony) Heurung, Jean (Larry) Kiphuth of Kimball, Sue (Randy) Baker of Sartell, Kevin (Tami) of Clearwater; sisters, Eleanor (Hans) Brendalin of Park Falls, WI, Leona (Larry) Hahn of Cottage Grove; sister-in-law, Olivia Gohmann of St. Cloud; 24 grandchildren; and 37 great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband of 50 years, Gilbert “Gib” W. Voigt (1997); daughter, Lucile (1979); son, Gilbert Jr. (1958); grandson, Christopher Baker; brothers, Leo (Pauline) Bauer, Michael (Theresa) Bauer, Albert Bauer; sisters, Clara (Tony) Stein, Ida (Matt) Schreiner, Alma (Eugene) Lovejoy, Mathilda (Aldine) Anderson, and Catherine (Harold) Eichers.
