Mass of Christian Burial will be 11 a.m. Saturday, March 21, 2015, at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church in Sartell for Judy Bialka, who died March 11 at Quiet Oaks Hospice in St. Augusta.

The Rev. Tim Baltes will officiate. Private burial will be at a later date.

Friends and relatives may call from 4-8 p.m. Friday, March 20, at St. Francis Xavier Gathering Space in Sartell. Parish prayers will be at 6:30 p.m. Friday, March 20, at the gathering space in Sartell.

In 1968, Judy was born in Brainerd to Arthur & Geraldine (Korman) Bialka. She played varsity tennis for five years and three years of varsity basketball for the Brainerd Warriors. In 1986, she was selected the Warriors’ Female Athlete of the Year.

Judy went on to attend St. Cloud State University, graduating with a degree in finance. She played tennis for the Huskies, was a team captain and competed in the 1991 NCAA Tennis Tournament.

She was extremely bright and talented, a female trailblazer in the waste services industry; working in customer service, major account sales, and operations management for BFI (Allied Waste) and Waste Management. She created, owned, operated and grew Waste Concepts; a sales and management consulting company.

Judy was an independent, determined, and energetic person who had innumerable friends. She was extremely personable and very loyal to her family. She was an inspiration to many as she courageously battled melanoma for six years.

Survivors include her parents, Art & Jeri of Sauk Rapids; brothers Mike (Judy) of Brainerd and Bruce (Kim) of Cottage Grove; and a sister Sherry (Harry) Scholtes of Sartell; and two nephews and five nieces.

Judy was preceded in death by her grandparents, Tony and Margaret Korman; Henry and Mary Bialka; and an infant brother, Patrick.
