Judith “Judy” Hoofnagle, 70, Sauk Rapids

February 7, 1946 - August 17, 2016

Funeral service will be 11:00 a.m. Thursday, August 25, 2016 at Atonement Lutheran Church in St. Cloud for Judith “Judy” Hoofnagle, age 70, of Sauk Rapids who passed away Wednesday at her home. Pastor Erica Kennedy will officiate and burial will be at a later date. Visitation will be 4:00 – 8:00 p.m. Wednesday, August 24, 2016 at Williams Dingmann Family Funeral Home in Sauk Rapids and one hour prior to services at the church on Thursday.

Judy was born February 7, 1946 in Litchfield to Leo and Gertrude (Schroeder) Smith. On March 17, 1967 she married Robert “Bob” Hoofnagle in Elsworth Township, Meeker County. Judy worked as a Personal Banker for Norwest/Wells Fargo for 33 years before retiring in August of 2006. She was a member of Atonement Lutheran Church in St. Cloud. She was also a member of the Sauk Rapids Lions Club where she is the District Governor elected on July 1, 2016. Judy volunteered many hours for youth groups, she loved children. She had a big heart and was always willing to help others. Judy enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren, sewing, 4-H in her younger years, cooking and baking especially, her family favorites: pie, cookies and bars. She was very outgoing her laughter always lit up the room.

Judy is survived by her husband of 49 years, Bob of Sauk Rapids; daughter, Cindi (Tom) Gilmore of Bloomfield, NJ; and her three beloved grandchildren, Zoe, Robert and William. She was preceded in death by her parents.

In lieu of flowers memorials are preferred to Minnesota Lions Vision Foundation, Children’s Eye Clinic or Minnesota Lions Hearing Foundation, Children’s Hearing Center.
