ST. CLOUD - The suspect in a St. Cloud shooting earlier this month has been charged in Stearns County Court.

The judge set bail for 24-year-old Cornelius Payton at $1.5 million.  He's charged with first- and second-degree attempted murder, first-degree aggravated robbery, second-degree assault and possession of a firearm after being convicted of a violent crime.

Payton is accused of being the shooter in an incident back on July 8th that started on 33rd Avenue South and ended on Division Street.

Two other men, 18-year-old Tyree Sharp, and 28-year-old Damian Wieneke, have also been charged.

Sharp is charged with aiding and abetting attempted first- and second-degree murder, aggravated robbery and second-degree assault.

Weineke is charged with aiding and abetting aggravated robbery and helping Payton and Sharp avoid arrest.
