Joseph “Joe” Binsfeld, 80, Cold Spring

Mass of Christian Burial will be 1:00 p.m., Wednesday, October 5, 2016 at St. Boniface Catholic Church in Cold Spring, MN for Joseph “Joe” Binsfeld, age 80, who died Friday at the Hilltop Care Center in Watkins. Entombment will be in the parish mausoleum.

Relatives and friends may call from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., Wednesday in the church Narthex. Arrangements are with Wenner Funeral Home, Cold Spring, MN.

Joe was born in St. Nicholas to Carl and Catherine (Furst) Binsfeld. He married Barbara Rehmann on April 14, 1956 in Colorado Springs, CO. Joe owned and operated Binsfeld Jewelers for many years and then operated J-B Trophies until his retirement. Joe was mayor of Cold Spring for two separate terms, he was a 35 yr. member of AA and the Cold Spring Lions. He enjoyed jigsaw and crossword puzzles, fishing, gardening, building birdhouses and playing cribbage.

Survivors include his children, Ronald (Marlene), Karen (Jim), David (Naomi), Michael (Ginny), Mark (Annie), and Cindy (Lewis) Heurung; brother, Eugene (Margie) Binsfeld; 15 grandchildren; and 5 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Barbara; sister, Eleanor; and brother, Jerome.
