Joseph J. Hruska, 84, Sartell

July 20, 1931 - November 1, 2015

Memorial Services will be 11:00 a.m. Thursday, November 5, 2015 at Williams Dingmann Family Funeral Home in Sauk Rapids for Joseph J. Hruska, age 84, who passed away Sunday at his residence. Rev. C.J. Boettcher will officiate and burial will be at Gethsemane Lutheran Cemetery in Upsala. Visitation will be one hour prior to the services Thursday at the funeral home.

Joseph Jerome Hruska was born July 20, 1931 in Pine City to Joseph & Rose (Wanous) Hruska. He served his country in the U.S. Army. He married LaVern Pepin on Dec. 26, 1952 in Osseo. Joseph worked as a carpenter and foreman for Hagman Construction, retiring in 1993. He was a member of Gethsemane Lutheran Church in Upsala and Melrose American Legion Post #101. Joseph enjoyed fishing, square dancing, wood carving, puzzles, swimming, and going to the casino. He also enjoyed going for walks and breakfast with Chuck in Arizona.

Survivors include his wife, LaVern of Sartell; daughter, Kimberly Kay of Monticello; grandchildren, Jamie and William Gorney; and great grandchildren, Chyanne, Spencer, Madison, Savannah and Laila Gorney. He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Dean on Aug. 11, 2011; and sister, Marge Schuver.
