Jack was born and raised in St. Augusta, MN on the Frank and Marcella (Schill) Laudenbach family farm. He graduated in 1947 from St. Cloud Technical High School. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War, as a member of the 45th infantry division, with the 120th Combat Engineer Battalion holding and earning rank from Private to Sergeant. Jack met Dorine Kerfeld at a local dance hall and they married on September 11, 1956 in St. Rosa, MN. They moved to Sartell in 1962 to raise their family. Jack was a member of St. Francis Xavier parish since 1962, and served as an usher, on several funding committees, and was a member of the cemetery board.

Jack worked at the Sartell paper mill from August 1955 to October 1994, including 5 years as a shift supervisor before retirement. He was a member of Local Union #274 and was involved in the Union for 20 years, which included positions serving as a union steward, treasurer, and vice president. He was a member of Sartell-LeSauk Volunteer Fire department for 22 years before retiring. And then became a charter member of Retired Engine Co. #844 and served as treasurer for 5 years. He also served as treasurer for the Sartell-Le Sauk Fire Dept. and the Fire Dept Relief Association for 20 years.

He was also a life member of VFW Post #428 in St. Cloud, a member of American Legion Post #428, a member of Catholic War Veterans Post #1831, and a member of the past Nocturnal Adoration Society.

Faith, family and fun were most important to him. He loved gardening, MN Twins baseball games and playing cribbage. We are blessed to savor many precious memories of camping trips, fun at the family cabin in Hackensack, Fall Bouja Fest and of him always thinking of others before himself. His sense of humor and kindness towards others will remain in our hearts.
