John “Doc” Joseph Smith, 68, St. Cloud

John “Doc” Joseph Smith, age 68, St. Cloud, MN, died Saturday, January 16, 2016 at his home in St. Cloud.

Funeral services will be Wednesday, January 27, 2016 at 1:00 PM at Benson Funeral Home, St. Cloud, MN. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the funeral home on Wednesday. Burial with full military honors will be at Fort Snelling National Cemetery, Minneapolis, MN.

John was born October 22, 1947 in Hazleton, PA to Edmund and Mary J. (Welsh) Smith. He served in the United States Air Force from 1965 to 1969. John had been employed as an
X-Ray Technician. He was a member of the Vietnam Veterans of America Chapter #290 and was actively involved in the establishment of the Vietnam Memorial in St. Cloud.

Survivors include a brother, James (Virginia) Smith of Allentown, PA.

He was preceded in death by his parents and two sisters.
