Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:00 a.m. Monday, December 22, 2014 at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church, Minden Township for John B. Riedeman, age 81, who passed away Thursday at Good Shepherd Lutheran Home, Sauk Rapids. Rev. Daniel Walz will officiate and burial will be in the parish cemetery. Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. Sunday at Williams Dingmann Family Funeral Home, Sauk Rapids and one hour prior to the services Monday at the church.

John was born Aug. 5, 1933 in Sauk Rapids to John & Margaret (Holthaus) Riedeman. He served his country in the U.S. Army from 1954-1957 and received the Good Conduct Medal and National Defense Service Medal. John married Darlene Jochum on Sept. 6, 1960 at St. Anthony Catholic Church in St. Cloud. He lived in Sauk Rapids most of his life and worked as a security guard for Franklin/Frigidaire/Electrolux for over 30 years. He was a member of St. Patrick’s Catholic Church. John enjoyed watching TV especially the Twins, Vikings and westerns. He was a friendly, helpful, loving, sociable man with a great sense of humor. Faith and family were very important to him.

Survivors include his children, James (Janene) of Sauk Rapids, Ronald of St. Cloud, Virginia (Michael) Wettstein of Beresford, SD, Diane (Jerome) Walker of Rice, Roger of St. Cloud, Dennis (Tracy) of Gilman, Allen (Gretchen) of Freedhem, Gary (Ally) of Sauk Rapids and Steven (Kim) of Sauk Rapids; sister, Dolores Maleska of Melrose; and sixteen grandchildren.

John was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Darlene on July 6, 2003; son, Scott; brothers, Jerome, Harold, Mark, Joseph, Ralph and Ed; sisters, Marcella Freihammer, Loretta Freihammer and Beatrice Maleska; and grandson, Michael.

Memorials are preferred in lieu of flowers.
