Joan K. Rhode, 81, St. Cloud

September 1, 1934 - June 20, 2016

Mass of Christian Burial will be 11:00 a.m. Friday, June 24, 2016 at Country Manor Chapel in Sartell for Joan K. Rhode, age 81, who passed away Monday at her home. Burial will follow at Annunciation Catholic Cemetery in Mayhew Lake. Visitation will be two hours prior to the services Friday at Country Manor Chapel. Arrangements have been entrusted to Williams Dingmann Family Funeral Home, Sauk Rapids.

Joan was born Sept. 1, 1934 in St. Cloud to Valentine & Clothilda (Maurer) Udermann. She married Roger J. Rhode on Sept. 17, 1955 at Annunciation Catholic Church in Mayhew Lake. Joan worked as the Supervisor of Quality Control Testing Lab at Fingerhut. Family was Joan’s greatest pride and joy. Joan graciously welcomed everyone into her home and hosted every holiday meal. She was an exceptional cook and seamstress. She enjoyed tending to her yard, flowers and garden. Joan was a caring, selfless, and generous person who was loved by all.

Survivors include her children, Jack (Darla Neumann) of Farwell, Deb (Jim) Hartman of St. Cloud, Becky (Gary) Frericks of Sartell, and Robin (Dave) Theis of St. Cloud; brothers, Floyd (Babe) Udermann of Mounds View and Valentine N. Udermann of Clear Lake; 12 grandchildren, four great grandchildren and two on the way. Joan was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Roger; and siblings, Charles Udermann, Francis Udermann, and Kathy Wolter.
