Joan Fuchs, 85, Cold Spring

February 27, 1929 – October 3, 2014

Mass of Christian Burial will be 3:00 p.m. Tuesday, October 7, 2014 at St. Boniface Catholic Church in Cold Spring, MN for Joan Fuchs, age 85, who died Friday at Assumption Home in Cold Spring. Entombment will be in the St. Boniface Parish Cemetery.

Relatives and friends may call from 4:00 – 8:00 p.m. Monday at the Wenner Funeral Home in Cold Spring. Parish prayers will be at 4:00 pm. Followed by a rosary with Catholic United Financial, Catholic Order of Foresters, and St. Boniface Christian Women. Visitation will continue one hour prior to services Tuesday afternoon in the St. Boniface Narthex.

Joan was born in St. Cloud, MN to Joseph and Jeanette (Scherer) Stock. She married John Fuchs on June 23, 1949 in St. Joseph Catholic Church in St. Joseph. Joan worked for Woolworths, JC Penney, and Sears as a sales clerk and manager. She enjoyed bowling, traveling, and was a foster mother to anyone. Joan also enjoyed cooking, and baking bread and was known for “Joan’s Kitchen” because her kitchen was always open. She was a member of Catholic Order of Foresters, Catholic United Financial and St. Boniface Parish and Christian Women.

Survivors include her children, David (Linda), Diane (Gene) Dold, Dale (Maggie), Duane, Douglas (Becky); 15 grandchildren, and 10 great-grandchildren; brothers, Gilbert, Dick, and Chuck Stock; sisters, Marie Krebsbach, Alice Lauer, Irene Pierskalla, Arlene Brinker, and Doris Johnson.

She was preceded in death by her husband, John; son, Daniel; grandchildren, Scott and Katlyn Dold; brothers, Sylvan, Edgar, Bill, and Lee Stock.

Memorials are preferred to St. Boniface Parish or Assumption Home.
