Jessie Marie Howard, Breezy Point and Palm Desert, CA, 88

Jessie Marie Howard, 88, of Breezy Point, MN and Palm Desert, CA, died Saturday, September 6, 2014 at Good Samaritan Village – Bethany, in Brainerd, MN. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 AM, Sunday, September 14 at the Brenny Funeral Chapel (13782 County Road 36, Crosslake, MN 56442).

Jessie was born December 3, 1925, in Reading, PA, the daughter of Robert and Margaret (Whitney) Hodgkins. As a young woman, Jessie was a model in New York City – an experience she treasured. In 1952, she married Dr. Frank Howard and Jessie dedicated her life to her family. She was an active wife and mother. She was politically active and enjoyed cheering on some of her favorite sports teams: The Twins, The Vikings and The Anaheim Ducks. Jessie also enjoyed working crossword puzzles. She cherished her time at the lake with her family.

She is survived by her children, Jeffrey Howard, of Agoura Hills, CA, Constance Jones, of St. Cloud, MN, Bruce (Brenda) Howard, of Coeur ‘d Alene, ID, and Phillip (Heidi) Howard, of Kimball, MN; nine grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband and parents.

Memorials are preferred to Mayo Foundation or Palm Springs Air Museum.
