Jerome Scapanski, age 93, of Foley, passed away peacefully at his home on Friday March 6, 2015 surrounded by his family.

Mass of Christian Burial will be 11:00 AM Tuesday, March 10, 2015 at SS. Peter & Paul Catholic Church in Gilman. The Rev Al Stangl and Rev. Leo Moenkedick will Concelebrate. Burial will be in the Parish Cemetery with Military Honors presented by the Foley American Legion, Post 298.

Friends may call from 9 to 11 AM Tuesday at the church in Gilman. Service with Dignity provided by the Foley Funeral Home.

Jerome Scapanski was born December 28, 1921 in Mayhew Lake Township, Benton Co. to Emil and Anna (Goltz) Scapanski. He married Evelyn Lewandowski on May 6, 1947 at SS. Peter & Paul Catholic Church. He had lived and farmed in Mayhew Lake Township his entire life. He was a US Army Veteran of WWII serving in the Pacific Theater from 1943-1946. During his life he was a salesman for Madison Silo Company, Jacques Corn Seed and held several offices for the AMPI Cooperative. His passion was farming and he enjoyed fishing. Jeome and Evelyn enjoyed traveling and for the past 17 years wintered in Mesa AZ. He was a member of the Foley Lions Club where he was a Melvin Jones Award recipient and was a member of SS. Peter & Paul Catholic Church and the Gilman Knights of Columbus.

He is survived by his wife, Evelyn, Foley, son and daughters; Mary (Thomas) Wainright, Sartell; Joseph (Denise), Sauk Rapids; Anne (William) Becker, Montgomery; Carmel (John) Fox, Foley; Virginia (Jack) Kornovich, Zimmerman, 14 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren; sister, Maryann Lawrence, South St. Paul and sisters-in-law, Rita Scapanski and Carol Scapanski.

He was preceded in death by his parents and children, Theresa, Charles and Elizabeth; brothers, Arthur, Donald, Gerald and Norbert; sisters, Florence Manuel, Addy Bastianelli, Arlene Seppelt; brother-in-law, Richard Lawrence and Raymond 'Pic' Bastianelli and George Manuel and sister-in-law, Eleanor Scapanski.
