Jerome F. Salzl, 82, Albany

April 27, 1932 - January 1, 2015

A memorial service will be 10:00 a.m. Thursday, January 8, 2015 at the Wenner Funeral Home in Richmond, MN for Jerome F. Salzl, age 82, who died Wednesday at the St. Cloud Hospital. Inurnment will be in the Minnesota State Veterans Cemetery in Little Falls. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service.

Jerry was born in St. Martin to Henry and Cecilia (Moonen) Salzl. He married Ardyce Lein in 1959 in Grandsburg, WI. Jerry served in the U.S. Army as a Paratrooper during the Korean War. He enjoyed cooking, fishing, gardening, and being with his children and grandchildren. He loved his wife Ardyce and missed her deeply.

Survivors include children, Jerry (Millie), Leslie (Don) Rogers, Michelle (Tom) Hardy, and Gretchen (Eric) Tolstoy; grandchildren, Ginny, Josh, Lindsay, Melissa, and Mallory; great-grandchildren, Laila, Leanna, Kody, William, Eli, Riley, and Hailey; brothers, Vern, and Dale; sisters, Donna Ramler, Sally Thelen, Marilyn Brinkman, Rita Meyer, Carole Mehr, Joyce Wimmer, Lois Holmes, and Sharon Salzl – Lindgren.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Ardyce; parents; brothers, Sylvester, Harold, Ralph, and Willie.
