Mass of Christian Burial will be 11:30 a.m. on Wednesday, May 25, 2016 at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church in Sartell for Jerome A. Then, 88 of St. Cloud who died on Friday, May 20, 2016 at the St. Cloud Hospital. Rev. Robert Harren will officiate and burial will be at the parish cemetery in Sartell. Friends and relatives may call from 4:00 – 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, May 24, 2016 and one hour prior to the services on Wednesday at the St. Francis Xavier gathering space. St. Cloud VFW Post 428 will pray at 6:30 p.m. followed by parish prayers at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday evening at the church in Sartell.

Jerome was born on August 22, 1927 in Sartell to Joseph and Mary (Traut) Then. He married Esther Grebinowski on June 8, 1953 at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church in Opole. Jerome was a Dairy Farmer in LeSauk Township and lived in the Sartell area all his life. He was a member of St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church, St. Cloud VFW Post 428, and Greater Minnesota Two-Cylinder Club for over 20 years. Jerome enjoyed spending time with family and friends, farming, playing his Hengel concertinas, collecting antique oil lamps and lanterns, restoring antique gas engines and flying his Cessna 170B airplane. He was an U.S. Army Veteran of the Korean War and proudly served his country.

Jerome is survived by his wife of 63 years, Esther of St. Cloud; children, Kathryn of Sartell, David (Constance) of St. Cloud; brother, Donald (Agnes) of Avon; sister-in-law, Phyllis of St. Cloud; grandchildren, Jason and Justin (Sara); great grandchildren, Logan, Westyn, Brady, Addilyn and Deagan. He was preceded in death by his parents; infant sister, Rose Mary; sister, Delores Then; and brother, Eugene.

The family would especially like to thank the 4th floor ICU staff at the St. Cloud Hospital for the wonderful care Jerome received.
