The Timberwolves will have a first round pick in this year's NBA draft after all.  Utah beat Phoenix 100-88 win clinch the last playoff spot in the Western Conference.  With Utah making the playoffs the Wolves get their first round pick.  The pick was top 14 protected this season.  Minnesota got the pick from Utah by trading down in last year's first round of the NBA draft.

The Wolves do not have their own pick in the first round this season because of a trade involving Marko Jaric with the L.A. Clippers.  The New Orleans Hornets have possession of the Wolves pick after acquiring it from the Clippers.

The Wolves will likely draft #15 in the first round.  Some players that could be available with that pick include shooting guards Austin Rivers from Duke and Terrance Ross from Washington.
