Janis Lowry, 78, of Princeton, formerly of Crookston, passed away peacefully on Sunday, October 11, 2015 at the Princeton Elim Home.

Janis was born June 17, 1937 in Crookston, MN the daughter of Ivan and Lillian (Stevenson) Abrams. She grew up on a farm in the Crookston area and graduated from Climax High School in 1955. She was united in marriage to Harry Lowry in 1957 in Anoka, MN. Janis worked in housekeeping for New Brighton Care Center for 30 years and also for Federal Cartridge in Anoka for 10 years. Janis loved cooking, sewing, gardening and pets. She was a very hardworking person whose life was centered around her family. Holidays and birthdays were very important to her and she loved hosting these events and spending time with her loved ones.

She is survived by her children, Michael (Elizabeth) Lowry, Dennis (Pam) Lowry, Mary (Frank) Kartheiser and Lisa Norbeck; grandchildren, Jonathan, Janelle and Gabrielle Lowry, Benjamin Kartheiser, and Megan, Emily and Cassandra Norbeck; sisters, Sherilyn (Calvin) Kolstad, Ivadelle (Tom) Story and Pamela Damon; along with many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents Ivan and Lillian Abrams; husband Harry; granddaughter Julia Kartheiser; and siblings, Lyle, Anna Lucille and Joan.

A Memorial Service will be held at 1:00 PM on Saturday, November 7, 2015 at Williams Dingmann Family Funeral Home in Princeton. Visitation will be held for one hour prior to the service.
