Janet Mae Blaszak, age 67, of Foley, died Thursday, September 4, 2014 at St. Cloud Hospital after a courageous battle with cancer.

Funeral services will be 12:00 PM Tuesday, September 9, 2014 at Foley Funeral Home Chapel. The Rev. Allen Jergenson will officiate. Burial will be in Benton County Cemetery, Sauk Rapids. Friends may call one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Service with Dignity provided by Foley Funeral Home.

Janet Blaszak was born August 9, 1947 in St. Cloud, Minnesota to John and Laura (Maus) Schmidt. She was united in marriage with Peter Blaszak on June 10, 1968 at St. John's Catholic Church in Foley. Janet worked at Fandel's Department Store in St. Cloud, Jack & Jill grocery store in Foley and she was also a representative for Avon cosmetics for many years. She enjoyed both flower and vegetable gardening, canning, counted cross-stitch, Sprint car races, and trying her luck at the casino. Most important to Janet was her family and cherished time spent together.

She is survived by her husband Peter, son Paul, daughter Janelle (Mike) Stoltenow all of Foley; sisters Marjorie (Bill) Reed of St. Cloud and Dorothy Miller of Waite Park; as well as many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

She is preceded in death by her parents; brother Harold; nieces Rachel Oerter and Kathy Miller and nephew Gary Poganski.
