James “Jim” A. Smith, 95, St. Cloud

June 14, 1921 - November 3, 2016

Private graveside services will be held for James “Jim” A. Smith, age 95 of St. Cloud who died Thursday, November 3, 2016. Interment will be at Assumption Cemetery Mausoleum, St. Cloud. Arrangements entrusted to Williams Dingmann Family Funeral Home, St. Cloud.

Jim was born in St. Cloud to Michael and Elizabeth (Schumacher) Smith. Jim attended St. John’s University, Collegeville. He was stationed in India during WWII with the Army Air Corps. Jim married Lorraine Tomczik on May 9, 1953 at St. John Cantius Church in St. Cloud. Jim was employed as a Systems Installer for Northwestern Bell until retiring in 1982. He was a great handyman who could fix anything. Jim was a generous person, always helping people as a volunteer, and he was a great lover of dogs.

Survivors include his children, Mary (Richard) Weeks of Wakefield, MA and Scott (Judy) Smith of St. Cloud; grandchildren, Kayla (Charles) Goering of St. Cloud and Kyle of St. Cloud and great-grandchild, Lyla Goering.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Lorraine (October 11, 2001) and sister, Annaceline Kalscheuer.
