Investigators Say Cause of Fire That Killed 3 Undetermined
MINNEAPOLIS (AP) - Minneapolis investigators say the cause of a fire that killed three young children has not been determined.
The Minneapolis Fire Department said in a statement Wednesday that while the cause cannot be proven, the fatal fire remains under investigation.
The Hennepin County Medical Examiner's Office identifies the victims as a 6-year-old boy, Latorious Thomas, and two girls, 5-year-old Latoria Thomas and 23-month-old Latorianna Thomas. The medical examiner says all three died of "inhalation of products of combustion and thermal injuries."
Investigators say the fire last Saturday is believed to have started in the kitchen area.
A memorial service is planned for 6 p.m. Wednesday in Robbinsdale.
