Investigation Under Way Into Crookston Woman’s Fatal Burns

CROOKSTON (AP) - The death of a Crookston woman found outside her home with her head on fire is under investigation by state, county and local authorities.

The Hennepin County Medical Examiner's Office says 60-year-old Balvir Kaur died Thursday at Hennepin County Medical Center, a day after she suffered severe burns. Her death is under investigation by the state fire marshal, the county medical examiner and Crookston police.

A neighbor, Dan Friebohle,  says he used his hat to put out the flames on the woman's head. Freibohle says there was a bag burning between the house and garage. The woman's house was slightly damaged by fire.
