Investigation Into Rockville Shooting Continues

ROCKVILLE -- A Stearns County Sheriff's deputy continues to stand guard outside the hospital room of suspected shooter Marcus Barshaw, although no condition update is available for the Walker man.

Barshaw is believed to be the shooter in the death of Jeffrey Schutz in Rockville Saturday night.

Stearns County Sheriff John Sanner says they continue to interview several witnesses in the case, but have not been able to interview Barshaw yet. Sanner says because of HIPAA privacy laws, they haven't been given an update on Barshaw's condition. The Hennepin County Medical Center, where Barshaw is hospitalized, has also refused WJON News' request for a condition update on Barshaw.

Sanner says they are still piecing together the night's events and are hoping to send their investigation to the Stearns County Attorney's Office soon.
