Inquiry: No Intent To Plagiarize By MnSCU College Leader

ST. PAUL, Minn. (AP) - Minnesota State Colleges and Universities says one of its college heads has been cleared of a plagiarism accusation.

Annette Parker leads South Central College in North Mankato. Blog posts earlier this year accused her and another state college president of not properly crediting other writers in their doctoral dissertations.

Western Kentucky University looked at Parker's 2012 dissertation and found she "did not intentionally commit plagiarism." MnSCU Chancellor Steven Rosenstone says the system considers the case against Parker closed.

Rosenstone called the accusations reckless and said they are part of a move to discredit MnSCU presidents. The charges came from a group pushing for change in MnSCU leadership as the system undergoes a major revamp.
