April 19, 1922- July 21, 2016

 

Inez Mary Blasberg was born April 19, 1922 in Foley, Minnesota, the daughter of Ben and Josie (Shufelt) Blasberg. She graduated from Onamia High School Class of 1941. Following graduation, she spent a short time in Minneapolis working. Her parents then moved to Princeton and she moved home, working for “Nelson’s Department Store,” then “Kaun’s Floral,” and back to “Ossell's” and “Johnson’s Department Store.” She was united in marriage to Willis “Tud” Young in 1946 and to this union, Charles “Chuck” was born in 1951.

Midge was very kind and gentle, loved life and enjoyed people. She had been an active member of the United Methodist Church in Princeton for almost 70 years. She had also been a member of the Women’s Legion Auxillary for 70 years, serving faithfully. Midge and Tud spent a lot of time traveling, especially to Florida. After Tud’s untimely death in 1982, Midge continued her love of travel with dear girlfriends. She was a great cook and loved her flower gardens. Their home was always open to visitors.

Midge is survived by her son, Chuck, of Princeton; two nephews, Richard (JoAnne) Young, and Roger Young; cousins and special friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and her husband, Willis “Tud” Young.

A Memorial Service will be held at 11AM on Monday, July 25, 2016 at Fresh Waters United Methodist Church, River Campus in Princeton. Visitation will be held from 10-11AM at the church. Interment will at Oak Knoll Cemetery prior to the service. Arrangements have been entrusted to Williams Dingmann Family Funeral Home in Princeton.
