ALEXANDRIA - Motorists traveling on I-94 west of Alexandria will encounter delays and lane closures starting on Monday.

The closures are being made for work on the CapX2020 transmission line project. Traffic will be reduced to one lane in both directions during daytime hours while crews work.

Crews will use a helicopter to string power lines over the roadway. Minnesota State troopers will be on site to help travelers through the work zone.

Motorists may need to stop briefly. As drivers approach the work zone, they should slow down and remain alert.

Work between Alexandria and St. Cloud on the transmission line will be completed late this summer. Construction on the final segment between Alexandria and Fargo is scheduled for completion in mid-2015.

Additional information on the project can be found here.
