The SCSU men's hockey team moved down a spot this week in the latest USCHO.com poll.

The Huskies (20-13-1) are still ranked eighth in the country after splitting their home finale series with the WCHA's tenth place team in Michigan Tech.

The Huskies won convincingly 5-3 on Friday night but came out a bit flat in Saturday's senior day. SCSU found themselves trailing Tech 3-0 after less than five minutes of play on their way to a 5-1 defeat.

The split has SCSU's PairWise Ranking at USCHO.com at 10th, tied with Western Michigan. The PWR is "a system which attempts to mimic the method used by the NCAA Selection Committee to determine participants for the NCAA Division I men's hockey tournament," according to the website. The top 16 teams make the tournament with a few exceptions including unlikely conference winners who receive automatic bids or teams upset in conference tournaments.

The Huskies play at surging Wisconsin, who are 15-4-5 in their last 24 games, this weekend in the season finale. SCSU has a two point lead over Minnesota (at Bemidji State) and North Dakota (at Minnesota State) for the McNaughton Cup, awarded to the regular season champion of the WCHA.
