DULUTH (AP) — Authorities say a 63-year-old man accidentally shot himself while hunting grouse in northeast Minnesota.

The St. Louis County sheriff's office was called around 9:30 a.m. Wednesday on a report of an accidental gunshot wound.

Authorities say the man saw a grouse and loaded his shotgun while getting out of his vehicle. The hunter slipped on the wet road and the shotgun discharged into his leg.

The man was taken by ambulance to a Duluth hospital. His injuries are described as non-life-threatening.
