ST. CLOUD - Colorful running shoes filled the streets of downtown St. Cloud this morning for the Graniteman half marathon, 10k, and 5k races.

Despite the unusual September heat and humidity, runners from around central Minnesota gathered and enjoyed the great new scenery offered by the race.

Over 600 runners signed up, ready to take on a newly designed course. Highlights of the races included the Mississippi River, Riverside Park, and a finish at the Rivers Edge Convention Center.

"This is a brand new venue for us, it's the first run that's been down here at the civic center since its been newly renovated." Race Director and owner Bill Corcorn said.

Among the participants, a full wedding group participated in the 5k race this morning. The group featured tuxedo t-shirts, and bridesmaid dresses.

"They're getting married today, they just did the 5k and then they're going to take off and go get married." Corcoran said.

The Graniteman races will be back for next year. For additional information you can go to their website.
