GRANITE FALLS  (AP) - A young woman who was fatally shot along with her boyfriend was eulogized as investigators worked across the street at the sheriff's department in Granite Falls to find the person responsible for the deaths.

About 600 people gathered at Granite Falls Lutheran Church Tuesday to celebrate the life of 26-year-old Kara Monson and mourn her loss. Monson was killed at her home Sept. 2. Her boyfriend, Chris Panitzke, of Redwood Falls, was also shot and died Sunday at Hennepin County Medical Center.

Friends and family members described Monson as a loving mother and someone who always saw the best in others. Monson's brother-in-law, Tim Sheely, encouraged mourners to "love one another as Kara would."

Authorities continue to look for Monson's former boyfriend in connection with the case.
