Mass of Christian Burial will be 11:00 a.m. Friday, August 1, 2014 at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church in Sartell for Hugo J. Otto, age 83, of Sartell who passed away peacefully with his wife Pamela at his side on Tuesday morning at the Fairview Rehabilitation Center in Minneapolis. Fr. Tim Baltes will officiate and burial will be in the St. Boniface parish cemetery in Cold Spring. Visitation will be 4:00 – 8:00 p.m. Thursday, July 31, 2014 at Williams Dingmann Family Funeral Home in St. Cloud and one hour prior to services at the church on Friday. Parish prayer will be at 6:30 p.m. at the funeral home on Thursday.

Hugo was born on August 11, 1930 to Leo and Mary (Mersch) Otto in Cold Spring. On August 1, 1977 he married Pamela Evans in St. Cloud. He was a member of St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church in Sartell. Hugo was the former Fire Chief for the Cold Spring Volunteer Fire Department. He was also a graduate and lifetime supporter of St. John’s Prep School. Hugo started working with his father and brother at Otto’s Inc. in Cold Spring. He took the business over from his father and ran it until his retirement. Hugo was a man of many interests and passions, who enjoyed life to the fullest.

Hugo is survived by his beloved wife of 37 years, Pamela; sisters, Mary (Richard) Kluzak of Naperville, IL, Martha Otto of Plymouth. He is preceded in death by his first wife, Florence; parents, Leo and Mary; sister, Renee Closmore and brother, Leo Otto.
