ST. CLOUD - Organizers say a record number of people turned out to participate in the Republican caucus at Apollo High School in St. Cloud tonight (Tuesday). Every spot in the 700-seat auditorium was taken, with many more spilling out into the hallways.

Elizabeth Heath of St. Cloud was attending her first caucus, and was supporting Presidential candidate Senator Marco Rubio. However, Elizabeth's husband Richard Heath is backing businessman Donald Trump. And their friend, Viola Backes of Waite Park has a third candidate in mind, Senator Ted Cruz.

Three students from St. Cloud State University were among the huge crowd. Marcus says he went to the caucus with an open mind, and was anxious to participate in the process. Marcus' friend Matt says he thinks businessman Donald Trump has gotten a lot of new people interested in the Presidential race. And their friend Sebastian says he's solidly backing Trump.

Sixth District Congressman Republican Tom Emmer addressed the crowd to start the evening. When he asked the group how many were attending their first caucus, nearly two-thirds raised their hands.
