Horses Bring Joy, Relaxation to Individuals With Disabilities
You might have heard of therapy dogs, but therapy horses?
Project ASTRIDE is a local, volunteer-based nonprofit that provides horseback riding experience for children and adults with disabilities. Alice Sue Becker is a board member for ASTRIDE. She says the program provides individuals with disabilities with a valuable sensory experience that they wouldn't normally have.
Individuals can participate in a few ways.
Becker says workshops will resume in the springtime.
