MILACA --This weeks Hometown Spotlight series takes us to Milaca, the site of the Hairy Mosquito Trading Company.

At first glance, you may think the business as just several rooms of clutter, but to owner David Ziemke it's much more. He says the business began a few years ago as a small ma and pa junk shop which quickly turned it into a must stop destination.

"Two years ago we were one building, now we're six buildings of stuff. All the vintage collectibles brings back memories, all the hand crafted goods you can't find at your local department store," says Ziemke.

Besides the treasures, a big part of the business is their annual Artisan Fairs during the summer, where local artist showcase their work first hand.

"You can come here at any event and find the artist doing their work in a demonstration. The artist gatherings we have here have grown over the years and get more fun every year," says Ziemke.

The next event is their Artisan Festival scheduled for June 10th and 11th.

Ziemke says they strive to make each day fun and as for the story behind their name, he says you'll have to stop in and find out for yourself.
