ST. CLOUD - A Holdingford man has been charged today (Tuesday) with attempted murder for allegedly shooting another man.

Sixty-seven-year-old Edwin Vail made his first court appearance in Stearns County Court and has been charged with Second Degree Attempted Murder and First Degree Assault. Bail has been set at $2 million unconditional, and $1 million with conditions.

The criminal complaint says Vail shot another man three times early Saturday morning.  The victim is being treated for gunshot wounds to the face, abdomen, chest and hand.

The incident happened outside Vail's home in the 200 block of 3rd Street in Holdingford.

A witness told investigators the victim had been to Vail's home on multiple occassions, and she believed Vail was upset because he believed the victim owed him money.
