DULUTH, Minn. (AP) - A celebrated northern Minnesota resort is on the market.

Bruce and Sue Kerfoot says the Gunflint Lodge is for sale. It's been in their family for 84 years.

The asking price is $6.7 million. The 100-acre resort, 43 miles up the Gunflint Trail from Grand Marais, includes a half-mile of shoreline in Gunflint Lake with an expansive view into Canada.

Seventy-four-year-old Bruce Kerfoot says they're coming off their best financial year ever but want to retire.

Bruce and Sue Kerfoot took over the Gunflint Lodge from Bruce's mother, Justine Kerfoot, in the late 1960s. They transformed the historic fishing resort and canoe outfitter into an upscale year-round, full-service resort.

The Kerfoots have already purchased their retirement home just down the trail in Tucker Lake.
