The remains were found by a hiker at Mississippi River park at 1 p.m. yesterday

WJON spoke to Matula’s brother, Steven Matula earlier today. He confirms that a ring she wore and a University of Minnesota piece of clothing was found with the remains. The clothing had the number 14 on it, which was Mandy’s number on the softball team. With these items, Steven said the family was certain the remains were Mandy.
