CORCORAN (AP) — The Federal Aviation Administration is investigating after a helicopter caught fire after landing at a private home in Corcoran.

The Hennepin County Sheriff's Office says the pilot escaped with minor injuries.

Maj. Tracey Martin says the pilot had just landed on a helipad at the home around 10:30 a.m. Sunday when the helicopter started to spin and then collided with a nearby unoccupied trailer. The helicopter then caught fire.

Sheriff's officials say no other structures were damaged.

No one else was on board.

The pilot was examined by a paramedic at the scene for minor injuries.

The Star Tribune says the pilot is a 68-year-old Minneapolis grandfather who had flown to see his grandchildren.
