Helen Mae (Pearson) Bauer was born on 4/10/1927 to Adolph & Esther Pearson in Evansville, MN. She passed away on Monday 6/27/2016 at Country Manor Nursing Home, where she resided.

Helen Mae married Henry (Hank, Heinie) Bauer in Brandon, MN on July 9th, 1947 and raised her family of five daughters and one son in Waite Park, MN.

Bible Study enriched her life and expanded her horizon of friends in faith. As a four time cancer survivor, she was an active member in cancer support group and “Relay for Life”.

As a young mother, she learned to sew out of necessity and those skills developed into teaching Community Ed classes, participating in quilt retreats and a member of the St. Cloud Heritage Quilters. Mom’s wide variety of interests also included music, reading, cards, dancing, painting and ceramics.

Her love of family gatherings gave her the opportunity to showcase her baking and cooking skills because any event was reason to organize a party. She’s keeping the angels busy in heaven today making potato salad and baking bread. Due to Mom’s illness she hasn’t spoken in the past 3 years. We’re sure she is talking dad’s ear off today!

A special “Thanks” to the staff at Country Manor Memory Unit & St Croix Hospice for their warm and personal care provided to mom and her family over the past five years.

Helen Mae is survived by her children: Jean (Kevin) Euteneuer, Waite Park, Sally Hilsgen, Sartell, Carol (Gordy) Midas, Big Lake, Betty (Jim) Habiger, St. Joe, David Bauer, Waite Park and Mary (James) Kuebler, Arlington, TX, sixteen grandchildren and sixteen great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Henry on 4/12/13, infant daughter, Mary Jo and her sister, Ella Adams.
