Helen Sieckert went to Heaven surrounded by her family on Wednesday, March 29, 2017 at the age of 96 years. Helen was always happy and loved her family and friends, visits were always welcome. Her family will miss her a lot. She was loved by all, kind and so sweet, never a bad word about anyone.

Helen (Honl) Sieckert was born on October 4, 1920 in Morgan, Minnesota. She was born to Joseph and Anna (Roiger) Honl. Helen graduated from Morgan High School; she then attended Brady and Rogers School of Beauty Culture in Minneapolis, MN. It was a nine month course, after school she worked as a hair dresser in Morgan, MN.

On February 7, 1941, Helen was united in marriage to Edgar (Ed) Sieckert in Morgan, MN. The couple bas blessed with four children; Karen, Terrence, Marlus and Randy. Helen and Ed lived in Morgan, Faribault and Long Siding before moving to Princeton in 1944. Helen began sewing when she was eight years old, sewing a dress for her niece. She continued to sew for herself and her four children, sewing coats, mittens, pants and shirts.

Helen and Ed built two houses in Princeton and Helen did a lot of paining, staining and varnishing. She enjoyed feeding birds and was faithful at changing the water every day. She enjoyed gardening in her younger years and they had raspberries, strawberries and grapes besides vegetables. She loved flowers and her flower gardens were always beautiful.

Helen and Ed belonged to the Rum River Ramblers; they enjoyed camping and snowmobiling with their friends and by themselves. Helen always made great food to bring to their potlucks and at home too. She was a great cook!

Helen and Ed spend 15 winters in Apache Park in Apache Junction, AZ. They enjoyed it a lot and spent time showing their friends and family the sites they had found. For the past 6 ½ years Helen has lived at the Caley House in Princeton. She enjoyed her friends, playing games, coffee time, baking and birthday parties. She loved looking at old slides, picture books and visits from family and friends.

Helen is survived by her children, Karen (Larry) Pope of Black Duck, MN; Terrence (Jan) Sieckert of Donna, Texas; Marlus (Norm) East of Oak Park, MN; and Randy (Crystal) Sieckert of Princeton, MN. Grandchildren, Mark (Sue) Pope, Marcyne (Tom) Myers, Marlena Pope, Marlowe Pope, Marshall (Courtney) Pope, Christopher Sieckert, Sabrina (Nathan) Ranweiler, Brian East, Brenda (Dan) Meyer, Linette (TJ) Gageby, Scott (Carla) Sieckert, Nicole (Brad) Lenzen and 23 Great-Grandchildren.

Helen was preceded in death by her husband, Edgar Sieckert, parents Joseph and Anna Roiger Honl, brothers Sylvester, Martin, Melvin and Vernard (Fritz) Honl; sisters Elmira Jaeger and Ruth Carter.
