ST. CLOUD -- A new report is being released today (Wednesday) that ranks the overall health of all 87 counties in Minnesota.

Each county receives a rating on categories that include smoking, obesity, physical inactivity and teen birth rates.

Stearns County is rated the healthiest in the tri-county area - ranking 24th. Sherburne - ranked 41st- and Benton - ranked 64th- didn't fare nearly as well.

Carver County received the best score, while Cass County comes in last.

The 2013 County Health Rankings are released by the the University of Wisconsin Population Health Institute. This is the fourth year of rankings that include every county throughout all 50 states.
