Head-On Crash Seriously Hurts Olivia Woman

BLOMKEST -- A woman from Olivia was seriously hurt in a head-on crash in Kandyohi County Wednesday afternoon.

The State Patrol says Thomas Kalahar of Olivia was heading north on Highway 71 when he entered into a whiteout from the snowplow he just met. Kalahar lost control, crossed over the center line and struck a southbound car head-on.

Kalahar and the driver of the other vehicle, 52-year-old Gergory Borchert of St. Peter suffered non-life threatening injuries. But, a passenger in the first vehicle, 63-year-old Geneva Kalahar was taken to the hospital with serious injuries.

The State Patrol says the road was icy at the time at the time of the crash.
